  • Android Password Transfer: Securely Switch Managers

Android Adds Direct Password and Passkey Transfers Between Managers

Google has added a new Android tool for moving passwords and passkeys. Users can switch compatible password managers without saving credentials to a separate file. The phone handles the hand-off. Passkeys can move as well. That was not possible with the old export method. Four services support the flow today. More are expected later.

The old route was riskier. People exported passwords as an unencrypted text file. Those secrets could sit exposed on the device during the copy. Passkeys did not travel with that file. After a switch, users had to register passkeys again on each site and app. The new path avoids that extra setup for supported services.

The move starts in the manager you want to use next. Choose import or copy from another provider. The app then hands the job to Android. The system lists installed managers that can act as the source. Pick your current vault. Android opens that app. You review the selected logins. You approve the transfer. Android then copies the passwords and passkeys into the new manager. Google says the copy can finish in a few seconds.

The steps are short. Open the destination password manager. Select import or copy from another provider. Let Android take over. Choose the source manager from the compatible list. Review the items in the old app. Authorise the transfer. Wait for Android to complete the move.

Google Password Manager is part of the set. It can import through this flow. It can also export stored passwords. The other launch partners are 1Password, Bitwarden Password Manager, and Dashlane. Google says more vendors will join.

The feature matters because passkeys are tied to a provider. File export never moved them cleanly. A system-level transfer keeps the secrets off an open text dump. Availability still depends on both apps supporting the Android bridge. Check that both managers appear in the list before you start. Then change the default autofill service after the copy if you plan to use the new vault daily.

  • Garmin’s Cirqa Smart Band Pro: What We Know So Far

Garmin App Code Points to a Cirqa Smart Band Pro

Garmin has been rumoured to enter the smart ring market with a Cirqa device. A new report now suggests another Cirqa product may be in development. Clues in the latest Garmin Connect app point to a Cirqa smart band. The software mentions two physical buttons, alarms, and audio feedback. Those details hint at a more interactive wearable than Garmin’s current screen-less bands.

Gadgets and Wearables says the Cirqa Smart Band Pro name appears in the latest Garmin Connect app. One reference sits under a resource called device_tutorial_alarms_message_1. That text says users can set alarms on the Cirqa Smart Band Pro through Garmin Connect. The same product name reportedly appears in app versions 5.28.1 and 5.29.

Other tutorial text describes how an alarm would work. The purported band is said to vibrate when the alarm starts. Pressing either button could snooze it. Holding either button may stop it.

That wording differs from today’s Cirqa Smart Band. The current band has one button. Users start activities by tapping that single control.

The tutorials also mention an activity button and a separate controls button. The activity button could start, pause, and stop an activity. The controls button could open another menu and play daily statistics.

App code is also said to mention volume. According to the tutorial text, the activity button may raise volume. The controls button may lower it. Another instruction tells users to wait for the volume level to be confirmed. That suggests some form of audio feedback.

An assistance tutorial reportedly says holding the controls button can trigger help. A separate line says the request can be cancelled by holding either button until a “Canceled” confirmation is heard.

Garmin has not confirmed the Cirqa Smart Band Pro. The app strings only indicate that the company may be testing a two-button band with alarms and audio cues. Official specifications should follow if Garmin announces the device.

  • Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro: Geekbench Results & Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Reveal

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Appears on Geekbench With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Xiaomi launched the Pad 9 Pro Max earlier this month. That model uses the company’s Xring O3 flagship processor and a 13.3-inch 3.4K display. The standard Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro now appears closer to launch.

A Xiaomi device with model number 2612CRPFFC has shown up on Geekbench. The listing points to Qualcomm’s SM8845P chipset. Reports link that chip to the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Two cores run at 3.80GHz. Six other cores run at 3.32GHz.

The purported Pad 9 Pro scored 2,075 points in the Geekbench 7.0.0 single-core test. It scored 8,750 points in the multi-core test. The listing shows 11.18GB of RAM. That figure suggests a 12GB RAM unit. The tablet also appears to run Android 17.

Xiaomi has not confirmed a launch date. Still, the benchmark listing suggests a China debut may come soon. The tablet has already appeared on certification platforms such as IMDA, EEC, and the UAE’s TDRA.

An earlier leak from tipster Digital Chat Station also pointed to a Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Separate rumours mention an 11,000mAh battery and 67W charging. Those details remain unofficial.

By comparison, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max already has official specs in China. It starts at CNY 4,799, or about Rs. 67,700, for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It uses a 13.3-inch 3.4K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The software is HyperOS 4.

The Pro Max also carries a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 32-megapixel front camera. Its battery is rated at 12,000mAh. Charging support is listed at 120W.

Final Pad 9 Pro specifications should arrive with Xiaomi’s official announcement. Until then, the Geekbench listing is the clearest public look at its processor, memory, and software.

  • Motorola Teases Signature 27: What to Expect

Motorola Briefly Teases Signature 27, Then Pulls the Page

Motorola launched its first Signature phone earlier this year. Slim design, flagship hardware, and a distinct look defined that model. Now the company appears to be lining up a successor. A short-lived website teaser named “Signature 27” has given the first official hint.

A Reddit user first noticed the prompt. Android Authority later confirmed the same pop-up on Motorola’s site. Visitors who opened the homepage saw a sign-up box. The form asked for a name and email address. In return, Motorola offered updates on the upcoming handset.

The artwork stayed deliberately dark. It showed a close-up of a rear camera module. Branding read “Signature 27.” The line underneath said, “A new perspective is coming.” Users could register or close the window. Shortly afterward, the pop-up vanished.

The same prompt also appeared for visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom. That wider rollout matters. The first Signature never received a full official U.S. launch. Seeing the teaser on the American site therefore raises the chance of a stateside release this time. Motorola has not confirmed any market list.

Another clue sat in the same window. A “Crystals by Swarovski” mark appeared to belong with the teaser. The logo itself failed to load correctly. Even so, the association is familiar. Motorola recently dressed the original Signature and other models, including Razr units in its Brilliant collection, with Swarovski crystals. A crystal edition of Signature 27 would fit that pattern. Specs and pricing for any such variant remain unannounced.

The current Signature still sets the baseline. Motorola introduced it in India in January as the first phone in the new premium line. It uses a 6.8-inch pOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 6,200 nits. Thickness is 6.99 mm. Weight is 186 grams.

Inside sits a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. Memory goes up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Storage reaches 1TB of UFS 4.1. The camera set uses 50-megapixel sensors throughout: a main camera with optical image stabilization, a 3x periscope telephoto, an ultrawide unit, and a 50-megapixel front camera.

Power comes from a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery. Wired charging is rated at 90W. Wireless charging is rated at 50W. The phone also supports 10W wireless and 5W wired reverse charging.

No official specifications for Signature 27 have appeared. Launch timing is also unconfirmed. The vanished teaser still serves one purpose. It shows Motorola is already building interest in the next Signature, months after the first model arrived. More detail will likely follow once the company puts a finished page back online.

A MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset will power the device. The phone will run Ai+ nxtQ OS out of the box. Therefore, software and performance sit in the same family as other recent Nova 2 models.

Ai+ is likely to share pricing and a sale date closer to launch. For context, the Nova 2 lineup already includes the Nova 2 5G and Nova 2 Ultra 5G. Those phones arrived in April. They started at Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 16,999. Both used around 6.7-inch displays, dual rear cameras with a 50-megapixel main sensor, and 6,000mAh batteries.

The Nova 2 Power now steps in with a larger battery and a Dimensity 7100 processor. As a result, it looks aimed at users who want longer runtime from the same series. More official details should follow before the India launch.

  • Pocket Bitcoin Security Update: More Info on Customer Data Leak

Pocket Bitcoin Says August Breach Exposed More Customer Data Than First Reported

Pocket Bitcoin issued a new update on 3 September. The Swiss Bitcoin service said an August security incident affected more personal and financial information than its first notice described. Forensic work identified two groups of customers. Bank transaction details from 5,120 clients formed the first group. Correspondence involving 291 clients formed the second. Together, the two groups cover 5,411 users.

Partner banks had sent transaction lists to Pocket Bitcoin during routine checks. Those lists make up the larger set. The records included names, home addresses, transfer amounts, and transfer dates. In some cases, they also included the IBAN tied to a transfer.

The smaller set came from messages between Pocket Bitcoin and its partner banks. That correspondence exposed different details for different people. Some files included names and mailing addresses. Others included Bitcoin addresses or copies of identity documents. The company said the leaked items appeared in mixed combinations. Not every person in the group of 291 had every type of record.

Pocket Bitcoin has contacted affected customers one by one. Some users named in an earlier notice may not appear in this new count. Anyone who received no new message should rely on the company’s first notice.

The firm said attackers did not breach its main customer and transaction database. The exposed material came from emails and from bank-generated lists stored in a backup copy. That is why some records look like transaction or identity files even though the core databases stayed closed. The leaked support files were copies created or received for regulatory checks.

Pocket Bitcoin also said the attacker never reached Bitcoin accounts. Buy and sell services continue to operate. So far, the company has seen no sign that the published information has been used for further harm.

The firm reported the case to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. It also notified the Liechtenstein Data Protection Authority. In addition, it filed a police report. It did not name a suspected attacker.

A separate August case involved SafePal. That company said a flaw in an order-tracking plugin put order data from about 39,798 customers at risk. The records covered orders placed from 2 March 2025 through 11 April 2026. They included names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and purchase details.

Both notices point to the same lesson. Companies should limit how long they keep copies of identity and payment records. Customers should watch for unexpected messages and should change passwords on related email accounts when a firm reports a leak.
