OnePlus Confirms 200MP Main Camera on the Upcoming OnePlus 16

OnePlus has officially listed the camera setup for its next flagship. The OnePlus 16 will use a 200-megapixel primary camera. Two 50-megapixel rear cameras will sit with it. The details match earlier leaks. The company had already shown design, display, and storage options. The phone is due in China in October. It will come in three colours and four memory variants. OnePlus has also said the handset will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.

The brand posted the camera facts on Weibo. It also pointed to Oppo’s Lumo imaging engine. The main sensor measures 1/1.4 inch. Aperture is f/1.6. The ultrawide camera stays at 50 megapixels with a 116-degree field of view. The telephoto camera is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 unit with 3x optical zoom. That zoom is a step down from the OnePlus 15, which offered 3.5x. The front camera rises from 32 megapixels to 50 megapixels. OnePlus will add Lumo colour management. Open Gate support is also listed.

Other confirmed options match earlier posts. Colours are Tomorrow’s Star, Martian Masterpiece, and Dark Forest. Storage pairs are 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB.

A recent report described a flat, simple body with a flat screen and thin bezels. It also outlined preset functions for a customisable shortcut key. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 uses a 2nm process. OnePlus is said to have scheduled a Game Conference 2026 for 28 September. That event may show more on raw performance. The BOE 165Hz display is also said to reach 185Hz in a gaming mode.

India timing and price remain unlisted. The October China launch should settle the remaining hardware questions.
