Arc X1 Handheld Opens India Waitlist Orders on October 2 from Rs 29,500
Indian gaming firm Arc has entered the handheld market with the Arc X1. The device uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 Gaming Platform. It pairs a 7-inch screen, active cooling, and controller-first hardware. Software is OwlOS, a custom system built on Android. The company says development ran for 16 months with community feedback.
Waitlist members pay Rs 29,500. Early-access orders open on October 2. The public price is Rs 33,500.
The display is a 7-inch Full HD LTPS TFT LCD. Resolution is 1,920 × 1,080. The aspect ratio is 16:9. Refresh rate reaches 120Hz. Typical brightness is 500 nits. Colour coverage is listed at 100 percent of sRGB. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 sits on top.
The Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chip is a 4nm part. It combines an octa-core Kryo CPU with an Adreno A22 GPU. Memory is 8GB of LPDDR5X running at 8,533 MT/s. Internal storage is 128GB UFS 3.1. A microSDXC slot can take cards up to 1TB.
Heat is handled by a centrifugal fan. Air is drawn through rear vents and pushed out the top. Analogue sticks use tunnel magnetoresistance sensors and are described as zero-drift. Face buttons and the D-pad use microswitches. Triggers use Hall-effect sensors and include mechanical locks. Two programmable buttons sit on the rear grips. Users can calibrate sticks and remap controls per game. Dual linear resonant actuators provide haptics.
OwlOS is based on the Android Open Source Project. It adds per-game performance and control profiles, frame-rate overlays, resolution scaling, custom fan curves, and Quick Resume.
Connections include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB OTG, a 3.5mm jack, and USB Type-C. The battery is 9,300mAh. Charging is rated at 27W. Arc claims more than eight hours in Silent Mode.
The X1 is an Android handheld, not a Windows PC in a gamepad shell. Price sits well below most imported Windows devices in India. Game compatibility and long-term software support will decide whether the local launch sticks.
