iQOO 16 Specs Leak Points to Major Upgrades

The iQOO 16 has appeared in several recent leaks. Officials recently spotted the device on the 3C certification site. This listing strongly suggests a near-term launch in China.

A tipster now shares fresh details. Digital Chat Station posted about an engineering prototype of the iQOO 16. The phone could feature a 6.85-inch flat Samsung display. It offers 2K resolution and supports a 165Hz refresh rate.

This marks a clear step up from the iQOO 15. The current flagship uses a 6.85-inch Samsung M14 8T LTPO AMOLED panel. It reaches only 144Hz, delivers 2K resolution, hits 6,000 nits local peak brightness, and packs 508 ppi.

The tipster also says Qualcomm’s next flagship chip will power the iQOO 16. Reports link it to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, model number SM8975. Earlier leaks describe a 2+3+3 Oryon CPU design with 16MB shared L2 cache. An Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB GMEM handles graphics. The chip supports both LPDDR6 and LPDDR5X memory.

Design changes stand out too. The rear camera module may shift to the upper-left corner. It could take a compact square shape.

Earlier reports add more expected features. The phone may include a dedicated graphics chip. It could also bring symmetrical stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. An 8,500mAh battery and IP68 plus IP69 dust-and-water resistance complete the package.

China may see the launch in late September or early October. The India timeline stays unclear. One earlier report suggested iQOO might skip the local launch. Rising memory costs could push the price past Rs 85,000. The company already raised the iQOO 15 price in India. It now sells for Rs 85,999, up from the original Rs 72,999 launch price.
