JioTag 2 Tracker: Ultimate Guide to Features and Pricing

Jio has launched the JioTag 2 tracker in India. The new device supports both Android and iOS smartphones. It works with Google Find Hub and Apple Find My networks. As a result, users can track belongings across either ecosystem.

The JioTag 2 replaces the original JioTag from 2023. It adds full cross-platform compatibility. The tracker relies on Bluetooth Low Energy for nearby connections. In addition, it uses community networks for wider location updates.

Users can attach the device to keys, bags, wallets or luggage. The built-in 120dB buzzer helps locate items within Bluetooth range. Users trigger the sound through the Google Find Hub or Apple Find My app. Once the tracker moves out of range, nearby compatible phones anonymously report its position. Therefore, the community network extends tracking coverage.

The device also supports Lost Mode. This feature aids recovery of misplaced items. Moreover, the JioTag 2 needs no cellular connection, SIM card or data plan. It delivers semi-real-time location updates through the supported networks. Tracking can even work across countries.

Jio prices the tracker at Rs. 1,249. It comes in Black, Green and Red colours. Customers can currently buy it on Amazon India.

The tracker runs on a replaceable battery. The company claims the battery lasts up to one year. Jio includes a spare battery in the box. Consequently, users never need to charge the device.

The body carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It uses a polycarbonate shell with a built-in mounting hole. The tracker measures 101 x 62 x 17 mm and weighs 30 grams. Overall, the design focuses on practical everyday use.
