Poco M8 Power Rumors Heat Up as Redmi Note 17 Series Eyes Global Markets
Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note 17 series in China. Now, fresh rumors point to an exciting new Poco smartphone headed for India and international audiences.
Tipsters suggest that one model from the Note 17 lineup will arrive under the Poco brand. However, the versions for China, India, and global markets will feature some key differences, especially in battery size.
According to tipster Kacper Skrzypek, developers discovered new references in the HyperOS source code. These clues point directly to the upcoming Poco M8 Power with model number 2602IPC8I.
Interestingly, a similar model number appeared on India’s BIS certification site back in May. Skrzypek links the Poco M8 Power to the Redmi Note 17, which carries model number 26021RN18I. This setup fits Xiaomi’s common practice of rebadging Redmi phones for the Poco lineup in other regions.
Battery capacities also vary across markets. The Chinese Redmi Note 17 packs a massive 8,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. The Indian version should keep this same capacity. Yet the global variant will ship with a slightly smaller 7,700mAh cell.
The pattern continues with the Redmi Note 17 Pro. In China, this model boasts a huge 9,000mAh battery and 67W fast charging. Indian buyers can expect the full capacity, while global markets may receive an 8,340mAh version.
Beyond batteries, the international models will stay mostly identical to their Chinese siblings. Still, one notable change stands out: global variants could swap the 2-megapixel depth sensor for an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. This tweak should deliver better versatility for photographers.
These details match earlier reports about Xiaomi’s strategy. The company often rebrands select Redmi devices under the Poco name for stronger appeal in India and other international markets.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the global launch timeline for the Redmi Note 17 series. Fans eagerly await official details on pricing and availability.
