Redmi Note 17 series will launch next week in China. Ahead of the official debut, Xiaomi’s sub-brand has shared key details about the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The upcoming phone brings major upgrades in battery and charging compared to the Redmi Note 15 Pro. Moreover, officials have already spotted the device on the National Communications Commission website.
Redmi Note 17 Pro comes with a massive 9,000mAh battery.
The company posted several teasers on Weibo to highlight the phone’s strengths. It packs a 9,000mAh battery that supports 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. In contrast, the previous Redmi Note 15 Pro offered only a 6,580mAh battery with 45W fast charging and the same reverse charging speed.
Additionally, buyers will receive a special five-year battery upgrade guarantee during the first sale. Under this program, users get a free battery replacement if the health drops below 80 percent within the first four years. Then, in the fifth year, customers qualify for a free upgrade to a higher-capacity battery instead of a standard replacement.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro also features a flat screen with 1.5K resolution. Engineers built the display with luminescent materials, and it reaches an impressive 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Furthermore, the handset includes Xiaomi’s Green Mountain Eye Protection technology for better comfort in low light. The device is already open for pre-booking on Chinese e-commerce platforms.
Separately, a Redmi phone with model number 2609FRA74G appeared on the NCC certification site. This entry could correspond to the Redmi Note 17 Pro or the rumored Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. The listing reveals storage options of 8GB + 256GB, 8GB + 512GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. It also mentions a battery codenamed BM95, which may indicate a 9,210mAh capacity along with support for up to 100W fast charging.
The certification further confirms strong connectivity features. The phone supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and USB Type-C. It also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Moreover, Xiaomi has already confirmed additional protections for the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The device features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and an IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K-rated build for extra durability. The company plans to launch the phone in China on July 14.
